The Client

Our client helps people hire professional chefs for their home cooking with the help of their intuitive and engaging mobile app. The entire process goes through 3 easy steps where in the initial one the brand learns about you. The next step is where you make all your choices and lastly, you get the chef that cooks you the menu you picked.

The Project

The project wants to make it easy for people to find and hire a personal chef for their homes. They're creating a simple app where clients can search for chefs, pick one they like, and book their services.

Challenges

  • We've added Twilio to allow users to chat individually with other chefs and the admin.

  • QuickBooks integration helps in managing invoices and tracking payment status within our system.

  • Unique indication on Calendar/ Scheduler to represent multiple bookings.

  • We've introduced a Tags and Flags system to ensure that the menu generated at the end fits the client’s requirements. Flags represent items that the client does not like at all. Then there are flags representing items that the client likes but not too much. Lastly, some flags determine the food items that the client and their family are allergic to. The “generate menu page” helps the chef avoid all such things by showing these flags making the menu extremely personalised and healthy for the end client.

  • It was challenging to manage the generated menu page as there were numerous conditions within the "generate menu page" that caused performance issues, making the page slow and prone to crashes, which in turn created challenges to manage.
